UNIVERSALLY ADAPTABLE
The Curtis standard line of right angle gearboxes have been carefully designed to achieve symmetry, which makes them universally adaptable. Any model, with any of the shaft and gear arrangements, may be mounted in the four positions shown below. If your application is mounted is such a way that one of the shafts is upright in a vertical position, contact the factory for special lubrication instructions.

EXCEPTIONS AND LIMITATIONS OF HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE TABLES
The horsepower ratings, torque figures and maximum rpm recommendations listed throughout this catalog are generalizations. Because of the difference in conditions of various individual applications, the horsepower may be somewhat higher or lower than the table indicates. With the right conditions in the individual application, the maximum recommended pitch line velocity of the gear sets may be exceeded. For these reasons, we do not guarantee these ratings for each individual application; but, recommend prototype testing of each application before production. If information or assistance is needed on drive applications, please feel free to contact us via e-mail, fax, snail mail or our toll free phone number.
